Group split at First/Bort: confident riders take the 15 km First-to-Grindelwald singletrail descent; less experienced riders/families ride Trotti-bikes from Bort down to Grindelwald or lap the blue G-Ride Park; the gondola (Bort/Schreckfeld/First) allows partial uplift/turnaround at intermediate stations.

Good group fit - gondola uplift means variable fitness levels can join; a passable basic condition covers the two short climbs. Beginners/kids can use the Trotti-bike (scooter) rentals from Bort instead of the full MTB descent.

Variety across the descent - asphalt, natural mountain road and alpine singletrail; long sustained downhill requiring reliable brakes.

First gondola (Grindelwald-Bort-Schreckfeld-First, 6-seater, approx 25 min) carries bikes at approx CHF 12 per bike/trip; note e-bikes are NOT permitted on the cable car. Staff load bikes on the gondola.
