Group split: beginners lap Schneewittchen/Fairy trails and the free beginner area via the Schneewittchen lift; advanced riders lap IXS Downhill and Blackline from the Panorama summit lift. All uplift by chairlift.
Strong for mixed-ability groups; dedicated free beginner and kids parcours plus progression flow lines alongside pro-level tracks.
The riding
Mix of hard-packed flow, wooden north-shore features, jumps and natural rooty/rocky forest DH.
Full spectrum from smooth flow and jump lines to the IXS Downhill race track and Blackline with rock, roots and drops. Advanced lines carry real exposure.
Signposted, colour-graded trails within a fenced managed park; trail map at base and on Trailforks.
Busy, especially weekends and holidays; expect lift queues at peak times.
Season & conditions
2026 season stated late April to early November (approx 24 Apr to 8 Nov); daily lift hours about 09:30 to 17:30.
Late spring to autumn (May to October).
Race events on the IXS Downhill track, night rides and demo/test days per season calendar (est).
Sauerland is wet and can be cold; rain makes rock and root sections slick and lifts may pause in storms.
Getting there & gear
Paid day ticket from about 46 EUR adult (34 youth, 25 child); 4-hour and season (about 439 EUR) tickets available. No lottery.

Valley station Kapperundweg 3, 59955 Winterberg; car park on site, close to Winterberg town and rail station.
Chairlift uplift included in ticket: main Panorama 6-seater plus Kappe and Schneewittchen lifts with bike carriers.
Full-face helmet and protection strongly advised; water/food at base; mobile coverage generally good near town.
Base station with ticket office, bike wash, rental (Ghost fleet), workshop, food kiosk and toilets.
Bike Klante and Poppenberg rentals; adjacent Trailpark Winterberg; Skiliftkarussell Winterberg hub.
Hazards & rescue
Jumps, drops and race-track features; ride within ability and scout blind sections. Busy trails increase collision risk.
None required; open lift-access park. Coaching/bike school available on site.
Trails cross access roads allowing exit; managed park with first-aid and rescue callout; standard emergency number 112.
