Grade & who can come
A river changes grade with its level. These grades describe a normal flow - in flood the same run is harder, and often a different run entirely. Check the gauge before you commit.

Commercial raft; advanced kayak/packraft
Lower-water trips run the same channel at Grade III; Mother-in-Law channel is the alternate to the tunnel (tunnel closes ~>80 cumecs)
Advanced-leaning but run commercially with guides; min age/weight per operator (typically 15+). Confirm.

The 'Mother' / Chief Section (IV+): stacked drops (Aftershock, Squeeze, Toilet, Pinball) with sieves; then Jaws (IV), Oxenbridge Tunnel (170 m) into Cascade (IV)
Numerous sieves (Chief/Mother, Jaws center rock, Mother-in-Law wall); tunnel wrap/sieve; jet-boat traffic below Cascade
Deep Creek to Arthur's Point (Lower Shotover / Skippers)
