Grade & who can come
A river changes grade with its level. These grades describe a normal flow - in flood the same run is harder, and often a different run entirely. Check the gauge before you commit.
Grade II-III upper, continuous Grade III-IV in canyon; Gate Rapid narrows to ~18 ft
Rafting; kayaking (expedition)
Full Padum-Nimmu expedition or single-day commercial Chilling-Nimmu for less experienced
Fit adventurous adults; high altitude (3000-3600 m) acclimatisation required; not for beginners on full run
