Accessibility & group fit

Strong family/group fit - beginner singletrack (Josie's Cabin, Josie's Playground) and a Gravity track, plus 1-hour intro lessons and a Youth Biking Program. All ability levels served.

XCO course described as brutal climbs leading to fast descents filled with obstacles; low overhead exposure (forested), technical challenge from roots and loose/rocky rock-garden descents. 2024 race mix included pavement, gravel, open field and singletrack, updated for 2025.

From Lake Placid follow Rt. 73 south approx 6 miles, turn onto Bobsled Run Lane / Van Hoevenberg Way to the Mountain Pass Lodge.

No routine MTB shuttle (pedal-access XC venue); during UCI events paid venue parking plus free shuttle from remote lots.

Bike & gear

Water and cafeteria at the Lodge; standard trail bike suitable; e-bikes allowed on 2 trails per Trailforks; cell connectivity in mountainous terrain not guaranteed.

ORDA-run venue itself is the primary hub; Lake Placid village and Wilmington are service hubs; Whiteface Mountain (ORDA) is the paired DHI venue.
