Who in your group rides what

Whether everyone in your group gets a day at Verbier - the grades on offer, the named zones, and how mixed abilities split up.

What this network spans
Grades 1 to 51-5 (e.g. Tire's Fire, an iXS European DH Cup track)
Local grading

Four grades: green, blue, red and black (UK/Euro system on Trailforks). E.g. Tsenelle green; Chotatai/Tsopu blue flow; Wouaiy/Tu cuci red; Tire's Fire/Bortabitche black.

Zones & variants

Group split: beginners lap the green Tsenelle and blue Chotatai/Tsopu flow lines; advanced riders take red Wouaiy/Tu cuci and black Tire's Fire/Bortabitche. Uplift via Medran-Ruinettes gondola (Telemedran/Televerbier lifts) lets groups skip climbs and regroup at lift stations.

Accessibility & group fit

Good for mixed groups - beginners/children on green Tsenelle, experts on black DH. Gondola uplift removes most climbing so lower fitness riders can still ride.

The riding

Terrain

Mix of machine-groomed flow trail and natural alpine singletrack; berms, jumps, drops, rock gardens; steep gradients (black trails average grade approx 25%).

Technical demands

Serious steep downhill terrain with berms, jumps, drops and rock gardens; some enduro itineraries traverse steep zones close to cliffs where dismounting may be advised (per operator safety notice).

Navigation

Signed/graded bike-park trails by colour; Trailforks map coverage strong. Park and enduro trails share hiking paths in places - follow signage and 'share the trail' rules.

Crowds

Busy in peak July-August, especially on flow trails and around lift stations; quieter shoulder season. Trails shared with hikers.

Season & conditions

Open window

Park operates approx early June to late October (2026 dates on Trailforks: Jun 11 - Oct 27).

Best season

Summer; Trailforks ridelog data peaks in July, then August and September.

Seasonal specials

Hosts iXS European Downhill Cup rounds on the Tire's Fire track (Ruinettes-Verbier); Verbier E-Bike Festival held in the wider Val de Bagnes in summer.

Alpine high-mountain weather - afternoon thunderstorms, rapid temperature drops, and wet/greasy roots and rock when raining; exposed sections near cliffs increase risk in poor visibility.

Getting there & gear

Bike lift pass required: approx CHF 45 day / CHF 239 season (Trailforks lists day ticket approx EUR 34). VIP Pass (from 1 night's lodging) gives 50% off bike lift passes. No lottery.

Permits and operators change - confirm before booking.

Trailhead access

Reached from Le Chable (cable car) and Verbier/Medran; road access to Verbier village, then gondola to Ruinettes. Parking at Medran/Le Chable (Trailforks POI approx 46.078, 7.215).

Transport & shuttles

Primary uplift is the Medran-Ruinettes gondola plus Telemedran/Televerbier and Telenendaz lifts (4 Vallees); a local Trail Taxi shuttle service also operates. Le Chable reachable by train/car.

Bike & gear

Full-suspension/enduro or DH bike and protective gear recommended for red/black trails; carry water. Mobile coverage generally good around resort and lift stations. (est)

Facilities

Lift-station restaurants, bike shops and rental/repair in Verbier (Mountain Air, No Bounds, Backside, Exoride), toilets and parking at Medran. Webcams provided by operator.

Operators

Mountain Air, Backside, Trail Taxi, Promobike Verbier (local trail association), Exoride, No Bounds bike shop; MTB Verbier. Nearby Trailforks regions: Verbier, La Tzoumaz, Bruson, Siviez.

Hazards & rescue

Hazards

Steep exposed sections near cliffs; trails shared with hikers (give priority, moderate speed through villages/road crossings); no pirate lines/shortcuts per operator rules; loose rock and high speed on DH tracks.

Guiding

Not required; park is self-guided. Tourist Office has offered free guided bike tours in summer; private guiding available (e.g. MTB Verbier).

Emergency & rescue

Trails descend toward Verbier/Medran with lift-station access points; Swiss alpine rescue via 144 (medical) / 1414 (Rega air rescue). (est)
