Also known as: Trentino MTB (Daolasa)
Views to the Brenta Dolomites (UNESCO), the Presanella and Adamello massifs and the Presena glacier; trails sit within the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park, near the Noce river, Val Meledrio streams and Lago dei Caprioli.

Whether everyone in your group gets a day at Val di Sole - the grades on offer, the named zones, and how mixed abilities split up.
Trailforks notes the region uses the UK/Euro style grading - green / blue / red / black / double-black. Park trails: Golden Eagle (flow), White Wolf and Wild Grizzly (medium), Black Snake (World Cup black/double-black).
Group split at the Daolasa top station - strong riders take Black Snake/Folgarida, intermediates take White Wolf/Wild Grizzly/Golden Eagle, and all reconvene at the Daolasa base gondola; the Marilleva 1400 side offers tour alternatives.
Broad - lift-served park for gravity riders plus easy family cycle paths, 4 Kids Bike Parks, a free-access Four Cross and gentler tours (Val Meledrio, Malga Campo). Mixed-ability groups split by trail grade off the same gondola.
Steep, rooty, rocky, heavily wooded (spruce/larch) hillsides above Commezzadura; classic natural DH loam-and-root plus built features (berms, doubles, northshore, rock gardens).
Black Snake is among the most technically demanding DH tracks in the world - average ~22% gradient with sections near 40%, dense roots, rock gardens and off-camber wooded chutes; high consequence on the race track. Lower-grade park trails add berms, jumps, doubles and northshore.
Signed bike-park trails from the gondola top; the MOWI Bike app gives maps, difficulty, elevation and live trail/lift status, and the Trailforks region is mapped.
Busy in peak summer and during World Cup/Worlds weekends (a marquee international venue); quieter on the tour/gravel side and shoulder weeks.
Bike Park Val di Sole operated 28 June - 14 September in 2025 (official); 2026 lift/park dates to be confirmed on the Bikeland lift-openings page. Black Snake is promoted as rideable year-round, weather permitting.
Summer, roughly late June through mid-September (peak July-August; Trailforks shows August busiest).
Long-running UCI MTB World Cup host (DH and XCO, near-annual); UCI MTB World Championships held here 2008, 2016 (incl. 4X) and 2021, with the next Worlds 26-30 August 2026. Also hosts Italian Downhill Cup rounds and pro training camps.
Alpine exposure - afternoon thunderstorms and rapid weather changes; wet roots/rock make the wooded DH tracks treacherous, and lifts can close in high wind/storms.
No lottery. Bike Pass required for lifts (Funivie Folgarida Marilleva 2025 tariffs, adult): 2 hrs EUR 36, 1 day EUR 47, 2 days EUR 88, 6 days EUR 157, summer season EUR 295 (junior/child reduced, ~20% off online). Four Cross access is free.
Permits and operators change - confirm before booking.
Daolasa, Commezzadura, mid Val di Sole. Nearest hubs Male and Mezzana; ~65 km / ~1 hr from Trento, with Bolzano over the Passo Mendola/Tonale side. The Trenino Val di Sole (Trento-Male-Mezzana narrow-gauge rail) serves the valley.
Uplift via the 8-seat Daolasa-Val Mastellina gondola (~12 min, ~850 m to ~2045 m); Marilleva 1400 and Folgarida gondolas serve the wider Funivie Folgarida Marilleva area. Bike Train and Bike Bus provide bike-carrying valley shuttles.
Full protective gear (full-face, body armor) recommended for the DH tracks; bike centres at Daolasa/Marilleva/Folgarida supply e-bikes, rentals and protective gear, with water at base/top-station facilities. Mobile coverage generally good in valley, patchy in deep woods (est).
Bike Centers, rentals, bike wash, gondola base-station services, on-mountain refuges, pump track and Kids Bike Parks, plus race-event infrastructure (Four Cross stadium, World Cup finish arena).
Funivie Folgarida Marilleva / ski.it (lift operator, bike-park manager), Centro Bike Val di Sole (reference bike centre), Grandi Eventi Val di Sole (event organiser), and local bike centres in Daolasa, Marilleva 1400, Folgarida and Mezzana.
Extreme steepness and root/rock technicality of Black Snake (pro-level), slippery when wet, high-speed jumps/doubles, alpine weather; watch lift closing times to avoid being stranded up top.
None required for the lift-served park; guiding/camps available (pro training camps, bike centres/schools) but self-guided is standard.
Gondola-accessed slopes allow relatively quick evacuation to Daolasa base; standard Italian alpine emergency 112, with on-event medical during races and trails crossing service/access roads for bail-out.
