Also known as: Livigno Bike
High-alpine panoramas from ~2,750-2,800 m over the Livigno valley and reservoir; main Alpine-ridge setting, mountain huts (Carosello 3000, Costaccia), and scenic passes (Forcola, Alpisella, Trela). Trail design collaboration with MTB legend Hans 'No Way' Rey.

Whether everyone in your group gets a day at Livigno - the grades on offer, the named zones, and how mixed abilities split up.
Bike-park/Trailforks colour grades: green (beginner/family), blue, red, and black; flow trails span green-blue while enduro/natural lines (e.g. The Bomb) run red-black. Spans full beginner-to-expert range.
Group split via lifts: beginners/families take gondola/chairlift uplift to graded flow trails (Carosello 3000 gondola, Valandrea-Vetta chairlift, Sitas), while advanced riders drop into enduro/natural lines; town shuttles move bikes/riders and let groups regroup at mid-mountain refuges.
Strong for mixed-ability groups: lift-assisted flow trails and a Bike Skill Centre suit beginners, families and kids, while expert enduro/DH lines satisfy advanced riders; e-bike friendly with widespread charging.
Mix of machine-built flow (compacted dirt, berms, tables), natural rocky/rooty singletrack, historic mule tracks and cross-country doubletrack; high-alpine tundra, meadow and scree above tree line.
Wide range: purpose-built flow trails are smooth, bermed and low-exposure for families/beginners, while natural enduro and DH lines feature rock, roots, drops, tight turns and open high-alpine exposure with little tree cover up high.
Well-signed, colour-graded lift-served network; the free MyLivigno app provides GPS tracks, maps, shelter and lift info. Trailforks map https://www.trailforks.com/region/livigno/map/ also covers the region.
Popular, well-known destination that draws bike tourists in July-August, especially on lift-served flow trails and bike-park hubs; quieter, more solitary riding on high XC/enduro routes and passes and in the shoulder season.
Lift-served season 2026: Carosello 3000 gondola 20 Jun-13 Sep, Sitas-Livigno Centro 1 Jul-31 Aug (Mottolino, separate, 13 Jun-27 Sep). High-altitude terrain is reliably snow-free roughly late June-late September.
Summer, roughly mid-June to late September; peak conditions July-August given the high altitude.
Season opening/Bike Park Opening events; weekly guided-excursion programme with qualified MTB guides; early-booking Bikepass discount (~10% if bought online before season start); Pinarello road-cycling shuttle for pass climbs.
High-altitude alpine exposure - afternoon heat thunderstorms can build fast (often from ~4 pm), with rapid temperature drops, wind, hail and lightning risk above tree line. Little forest shelter up high means strong UV and sun exposure; cold mornings even in summer.
No lottery. A paid Livigno Bikepass covers lift access to Carosello 3000, Sitas and Mottolino trails (daily, multi-day and seasonal options; ~EUR 3.15/day equivalent on the season pass; early-online discount). No wilderness permit required.
Permits and operators change - confirm before booking.
Livigno village (~1,816 m), a duty-free resort town reached by road via Passo del Foscagno/Passo d'Eira or the Munt la Schera tunnel from Switzerland; lift base stations (Carosello 3000, Sitas) sit in/near town.
Extensive lift/shuttle system: Carosello 3000 gondola and chairlifts, Sitas cableway, and in-town bike shuttles; free/discounted bus and bike-shuttle transfers; Pinarello road-cycling assistance shuttle for pass rides.
Full-suspension trail/enduro bike (or e-bike) recommended; carry water, layers, sun protection and wind/rain shell for altitude. MyLivigno app aids navigation; mobile coverage good in-valley but patchy on high remote terrain (est).
Comprehensive resort infrastructure: bike rental/shops, bike wash and secure storage at bike hotels/apartments, Bike Skill Centre, Aquagranda wellness centre, restaurants and mountain huts, plus e-bike charging points.
Hubs: Bike Skill Centre and Carosello 3000 Mountain Park (Bike Academy); Mottolino Bike Park (adjacent, separate). Guiding: MTB Guides Livigno / MtbItaly (mtblivigno.eu), BikeLivigno (bikelivigno.com), Black Bike School (official).
High altitude (thin air, strong UV, rapid weather change), afternoon thunderstorms, exposed high-alpine sections with little tree cover, mixed rider traffic on shared flow trails, and technical rock/root hazards on natural enduro/DH lines. Check lift and trail status before riding.
Not required - trails are self-guided and signed - but optional guiding is well developed via the Bike Skill Centre and official Black Bike School, with a weekly graded-excursion programme and qualified MTB guides for enduro/XC/technique.
Lift-served terrain allows relatively quick descent/exit to the valley; Italian mountain rescue via emergency number 112. Multiple lift stations and refuges provide bail-out points (est).
