Whether everyone in your group gets a day at Dwellingup - the grades on offer, the named zones, and how mixed abilities split up.
IMBA colours: Green, Blue (Turner Hill main loop is blue), Black (optional technical features).
Group split: beginners/families ride Dwellingup town and Marrinup green/blue loops; advanced riders shuttle-lap or ride Turner Hill's blue loop with black optional lines, regrouping in town.
~1-1.5 hrs south of Perth; trail-town hub with beginner loops in town plus gravity-style Turner Hill, so mixed groups can split by trailhead.
The riding
Jarrah forest singletrack over laterite and pea-gravel, rock features and machine-built flow.
Flowing forest singletrack with steep climbs, fast descents, tight corners and rock features; optional black log-overs, drops, doubles and jumps. Pea-gravel corners can be loose.
Signposted colour-graded network (recently built/upgraded 2019-2025); DBCA/Trails WA and Trailforks maps recommended.
Growing destination, busy on event weekends; generally moderate with quiet midweek riding.
Season & conditions
Open year-round; no snow. Best-draining in cooler months.
Autumn-spring (Mar-Nov); cooler and tackier. Ridable year-round, hot in midsummer.
WA MTB/enduro events and festivals; uplift/shuttle days most weekends at Turner Hill.
Summer heat and bushfire risk (possible DBCA forest closures/prescribed burns); winter rain and slick clay/pea-gravel.
Getting there & gear
No fee to ride (free public access on DBCA-managed land).
Permits and operators change - confirm before booking.
Sealed access to Dwellingup and Marrinup; Turner Hill trailhead via forest roads between Pinjarra and Dwellingup. Car parking at trailheads.
Turner Hill is gravity-friendly; uplifts/shuttles available most weekends (not required). Self-drive from Perth; local bike hire in Dwellingup.
Carry water; mobile coverage patchy in forest. Trail bike fine; capable bike for Turner Hill blacks.
Dwellingup town services (cafes, pub, visitor centre, toilets, water, bike hire); trailhead parking.
Dwellingup town hub (Destination Murray/visitor centre); local bike hire; WA Gravity Enduro events.
Hazards & rescue
Loose pea-gravel corners, snakes, summer heat/fire, prescribed-burn and event closures. Check DBCA alerts.
None required; self-guided. Local hire and coaching available.
Network laced with forest/fire roads for bail-out; Dwellingup town and Pinjarra services nearby.
